Tessa Jowell visits site of new West Norwood School

Tessa Jowell visited the site which will be home to The Elmgreen School for its first two years this week.

Work on the temporary site - on Gipsy Road - is well advanced ahead of the opening of the school in September 2007. The school will move to new buildings on a permanent site on Elm Court Road in September 2009.

Commenting on her visit, Tessa said:

"All the inspiration, energy & commitment that has been the driving force behind the parents' campaign for The Elmgreen School is evident in the new school building which will for the next two years accommodate the first two year groups of students of The Elmgreen School." 

Tessa is pictured with the Chair of Governors, Sandy Nuttgens, the Headteacher, Asma Mansuri and two students who will be attending the new school in September.
