Tessa Backs Brixton Markets

Brixton Market Tessa Jowell has backed market traders and local residents to try to get Brixton's famous covered markets listed to help prevent their demolition.

Tessa commented: 'Brixton's markets are intrinsic to the historic and architectural bones of the town and they hold the key to its past and its future.

'That's why I support their listing and that is why we cannot afford to let them go.'
