Ebony Horse Club, based in Brixton has won a major award after topping an online poll.
Ebony Horse Club is a community based sports club that helps young people in Lambeth. It is based in a ward where many residents face challenging personal circumstances and is the leading project in Britain for giving ethnic minority and disadvantaged children the experience of horses and riding. It provides access to top quality horse riding instruction and mentoring for young people aged eight to seventeen years old whilst enabling them to learn important skills in working co-operatively together.
The Duchess of Cornwall is the President of the Ebony Horse Club
They offer their members an opportunity to enjoy sport with an outdoor healthy lifestyle, visiting and riding in the countryside and an achievement in a sport they could only dream of, as well as opportunities to try other sports. Above all, Ebony Horse Club gives their young people an opportunity to belong.

Members of Ebony Horse Club at the House of Commons receive a Kids Count Award from Tony Hadley of Spandau Ballet having been nominated by Tessa Jowell.
Tessa Jowell commented: "I am absolutely delighted that Ebony have won this award which will allow them to build on the fantastic work that they do with young people in the Brixton area.
"Ebony is one of the most effective local organisations with which I have ever worked in transforming the lives of hundreds of young people growing up in really tough circumstances.
"With the Duchess of Cornwall as its President and a number of recent awards Ebony is now receiving the recognition it so richly deserves. Ros Spearing, Shannel Foster, and everyone involved with Ebony are an inspiration to us all".
