Tessa Jowell has welcomed the grant of planning permission for a new seconday school for boys in East Dulwich. She said:
"I welcome the granting of planning permission for the new East Dulwich boys' school on Wednesday.
"Over many years of campaigning for this school, parents have told me how they desperately need a good local secondary school which their children can attend.
"I do hope that, after all this time, for the sake of children who will attend the new school and the parents who have supported it over many years, there will be no more delays and that the school will open on time in 2010."
