Tessa Jowell was at Elmwood School on Friday where she visited the brand new IT suite that has recently been completed.
She also opened the schools new, lottery funded, garden and was delighted to help some of the pupils as they planted some elephant garlic.
Tessa Jowell commented: 'The beautiful new garden at Elmwood School will bring lasting pleasure to children, parents and staff. Everyone involved should be congratulated.
'It is a good example of the way that schools across Lambeth are using the same sort of spirit associated with the Olympics and turning it into visionary projects across the borough.'
