Tessa Seeks Views on Local Rail Services
 Tessa Jowell is concerned that a new rail timetable commencing on 14 December will remove two trains per hour from the off-peak timetable on the service running to London Bridge through Gipsy Hill, West Norwood, Tulse Hill, North Dulwich and East Dulwich. She opposed these changes with Southern Rail and the Department for Transport. Surprisingly, a passenger representative group supported the changes and they will now go ahead. Tessa Visits New It Suite and Garden at Elmwood School
 Tessa Jowell was at Elmwood School on Friday where she visited the brand new IT suite that has recently been completed. She also opened the schools new, lottery funded, garden and was delighted to help some of the pupils as they planted some elephant garlic. Tessa Supports Whippersnappers Swimming Gala
 Tessa Jowell helped to launch the first School Swimming Gala in forty years at the Brockwell Park Lido in July.
Organised by Whippersnappers - over 100 primary and secondary school pupils from Lambeth and Southwark took part in the Swimming Gala in the newly refurbished lido on Thursday July 3rd 2008.
The races were both competitive and fun, with serious ‘Olympic style’ races as well as opportunities to cross the water in pyjamas or inflatables. Tessa Jowell Welcomes Decision on New East Dulwich School
 Tessa Jowell has welcomed the grant of planning permission for a new seconday school for boys in East Dulwich.  LOCAL MP SUPPORTS 'FINANCIALLY VIABLE' POST OFFICE
Tessa Jowell is backing Mr Francis, the Sub Postmaster at the Gipsy Road Post Office in her constituency.
Tessa (pictured left with Mr Francis) supports the retention of the Post Office in Gipsy Road having discussed the matter in detail with the sub-postmaster as well as other local traders and residents. She comments:

Tessa Working With Dulwich Going Greener
 Tessa Jowell recently hosted a meeting at Dulwich Library with Dulwich Going Greener to encourage local schools to incorporate sustainability into their teaching and into everyday decisions about their schools. This was a follow-up to a workshop she hosted with Dulwich Going Greener last autumn. Geoff Shearcroft from AOC Architects shared his experiences on how to make school buildings and grounds more sustainable. Dulwich Wood Nursery Official Opening

Tessa Jowell attended the official opening of the Dulwich Wood Nursery and Children's Centre on Wednesday.
The Centre has received funding through the government's SureStart programme which Tessa Jowell initiated in her first Ministerial position at the Department of Health
